A true Liverpool original, Probe Records opened their doors for business in 1971. Lead by Annie Davies with assistance from Rob Parker and John Atherton.
Probe also provided the location for the early careers of some of the region’s best known musical talent, including Wah! Heat motor-mouth Pete Wylie, The Teardrop Explodes’s Julian Cope, Pop Cultured (Liverpool University Press, 2008) photographer Mark McNulty and Dead or Alive’s front-man Pete Burns, while Paul Du Noyer called Probe "the semi-official control room of Liverpool music" after his experiences with the team.
Probe Records specialise in selling new and reissue vinyl and also have an extensive and varied selection of shiny compact discs covering everything from the 1960s (or earlier) to the latest sounds of today (or even tomorrow), so please stop by and see what interesting music you can find.
